AC Announces U.S. and Canada Launch Dates

Following its success across Europe, Marriott International launched the AC Hotels by Marriott lifestyle brand in North America with the opening of AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon. Situated on Carondelet Street at the edge of the French Quarter inside the historic Cotton Exchange building, the hotel features 220 guestrooms with striking views of the city. Guests can enjoy amenities such as the AC Lounge, which serves wines on tap and local craft beers; the AC Library, a quiet place to read or work; and AC Kitchen, offering a selection of breakfast items.

“With the continued rise of the millennial traveler, we saw an opportunity to bring this popular European brand to the U.S. and introduce a more experiential, design-led lifestyle option in the upper-moderate tier,” said Arne Sorenson, president and chief executive officer of Marriott International, at an event in New Orleans.

The AC Hotels by Marriott portfolio already includes more than 75 properties across Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. The brand has plans to expand in North America with openings in locations such as Kansas City’s Westport neighborhood and Miami Beach, and it anticipates adding more than 50 additional hotels across the United States and Latin America within the next three years.
