The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. announced plans to open a resort in Bali scheduled for 2014. The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Indonesia will offer 288 guest rooms, including 90 suites and 14 private villas, along with a full complement of leisure amenities such as swimming pools, a spa and a range of recreational facilities.
The resort’s dining options will include six restaurants and bars. One highlight is a cliff-side restaurant integrated into a natural cave that can also be reserved as an intimate private dining room. Designed to reflect local character, the resort aims to deliver carefully curated experiences that showcase Balinese culture while meeting the service standards expected of a Ritz-Carlton property.
“Bali is a naturally beautiful destination global travelers have consistently returned to. We are delighted to be creating an authentic Balinese resort in Sawangan which will offer breathtaking views and carefully curated experiences and recreational activities that speak to the aspirations of today’s Ritz-Carlton guest,” said Herve Humler, president and CEO of Ritz-Carlton.
The project emphasizes both luxury and local authenticity. Guest accommodations will range from well-appointed rooms to expansive suites and private villas, each designed with comfort and contemporary amenities in mind. The spa and wellness offerings are planned to blend modern treatments with traditional Balinese therapies and rituals, providing relaxation and cultural immersion for guests.
Recreational facilities will cater to a variety of interests, including family-friendly activities, fitness options and curated excursions that take advantage of Bali’s natural beauty and cultural attractions. The resort’s public spaces and dining venues are intended to create memorable moments, whether guests seek casual beachfront dining, refined culinary experiences, or unique settings such as the cave restaurant.
Located in Sawangan, the resort aims to take advantage of panoramic views and a coastal setting that complements Bali’s reputation as a premier island destination. The design and programming are expected to incorporate local artistry, materials and hospitality traditions, presenting an authentic sense of place while maintaining international luxury standards.
The addition of The Ritz-Carlton Bali contributes to the island’s hospitality landscape by introducing a large-scale luxury resort with diverse accommodation types and multiple dining concepts. With its mix of private villas, suites and guest rooms, the property is positioned to serve couples, families and groups seeking a high level of service, amenities and immersive cultural experiences.
As with most resort developments of this scale, the focus will be on delivering a seamless guest experience from arrival through departure: thoughtful guestroom design, signature spa and wellness programs, varied dining options, and bespoke recreational and cultural programming. These elements are intended to reflect both the Ritz-Carlton brand’s commitment to exceptional service and Bali’s rich cultural and natural setting.
