Lufthansa passengers can now enjoy the airline’s redesigned first-class offering on all long-haul flights departing from Munich. The carrier has completed a retrofit of its Munich-based Airbus A340-600 long-haul aircraft, bringing the updated first-class experience to those routes.
“Lufthansa has thus taken another major step towards its goal of becoming the first 5-star airline in the western hemisphere,” said Thomas Klühr, member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board responsible for Finance & Hub Munich.
The revamped first-class product and its supporting services have received top international recognition. In the Skytrax Star Ranking, the new travel class was awarded five stars, a distinction that reflects exceptional quality, superior comfort and personalized service.
The airline plans to continue updating first- and business-class cabins across the remainder of its long-haul fleet throughout the summer. By the end of 2015, all of Lufthansa’s long-range aircraft are scheduled to include the new premium economy cabin, completing the program of premium upgrades.
