Starting July 1, Brussels Airlines passengers flying to Africa, the United States, or Canada can take advantage of a new Economy Plus option. To celebrate the launch, Brussels Airlines will automatically upgrade 20,000 passengers to Economy Plus during July and August.
Economy Plus is located in the first four rows of the economy cabin and offers more legroom and an increased recline of 12 degrees. Passengers in Economy Plus receive a pre-meal glass of Champagne, an amenity kit, a hotel-style towel and linen pillow, and a Neuhaus chocolate gift box.
Each Airbus A330 in the Brussels Airlines long-haul fleet now includes 32 Economy Plus seats, which adds up to approximately 18,000 Economy Plus seats annually. The standard upgrade fee is €120 each way, but for a limited introductory period the fare has been reduced to €99 each way.
“We see an increasing demand for a product between business class and economy class,” said Lars Redeligx, chief commercial officer at Brussels Airlines. “Our new Economy Plus provides more space, greater comfort and enhanced amenities at an attractive price. After successfully rolling out our revised commercial approach on short-haul routes, we are now introducing a new product generation on our long-haul services. More innovations are already in the pipeline.”
