Cathay Pacific has reopened its newly redesigned flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport, welcoming members and customers back since Aug. 15. The refreshed reception area reflects the airline’s move away from a traditional counter layout toward a podium-style approach, creating a more personal check-in experience. Throughout the lounge, carefully chosen designer furniture and lighting establish a modern, comfortable atmosphere, while a variety of intimate seating areas allow guests to relax in quieter, more private spaces.

Dining options are a key focus of the redesign. The Noodle Bar combines communal long tables with cozy banquette seating and serves signature items such as freshly prepared wontons and dan dan noodles. The Food Hall offers a contemporary, open-ceilinged setting with self-serve stations that cater to a range of tastes and schedules. For a more refined experience, the Teahouse presents premium Chinese teas brewed to order by Cathay Pacific’s tea specialists, creating a calm, curated tasting environment right in the lounge.
Another standout feature is the Terrace, a bright, open-ceilinged veranda designed to bring natural light into the space. The Terrace showcases the airline’s bespoke, multifunctional Solo Chairs, which provide a private retreat for passengers seeking a quiet spot to work or unwind before their flight. Overall, the redesign emphasizes comfort, choice and thoughtful details that enhance the lounge experience for both members and guests.
