Hainan Airlines is partnering with the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), now in its 43rd year.
SIFF brings people together to discover exceptional films from around the world through its SIFF Film Festival, SIFF Cinema venues and SIFF Education programs. Recognized as one of North America’s premier film festivals, SIFF is the largest and most attended festival in the United States, attracting more than 155,000 visitors annually. Spanning 25 days, the festival showcases over 400 features, shorts and documentaries from more than 80 countries each year. This year’s event runs from May 18 through June 11.
This year marks the second edition of the China Stars Showcase, which screens 12 feature films alongside five short films created by students from the Beijing Film Academy. Supported by WASA North America Group and Hainan Airlines, the showcase aims to promote cultural exchange and artistic dialogue. The program spans genres—from thrillers and family comedies to imaginative stories involving interdimensional discovery—highlighting the diversity of contemporary independent filmmaking in China. China Stars award presentations will be held on Friday, June 9 at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Seattle.
If you plan to attend, consult the festival schedule to see daily screening times and use the film guide to search by genre, country, mood and other filters. Individual tickets are listed on each film’s page; standard tickets are $14, with discounts available for weekday matinees, students, seniors and SIFF members. Full festival passes are also offered for those who want to see multiple programs.
