Air Canada has launched a dedicated app for the Apple Watch, giving travelers convenient, on-the-go access to essential trip information and quick task completion such as checking in for flights.
“The app lets customers quickly view flight status and boarding times,” said Craig Landry, vice president of marketing at Air Canada. “Notifications help save time by prompting users to check in and board when appropriate.”
Landry added that the new app supports Air Canada’s mobile strategy of adopting the latest technology so customers can manage travel using their preferred devices.
The app’s Glance feature presents personalized, relevant details for flights departing within 24 hours. Key information appears directly on the Apple Watch and is updated frequently on the day of travel. Travelers receive actionable notifications for check-in and boarding, helping them stay informed without pulling out a phone. A hand-off capability also lets users start more involved tasks—such as completing check-in—on the Apple Watch and then finish them on an iPhone or Mac.
The Air Canada app for Apple Watch became available in the Apple Watch App Store on April 24. The Air Canada iPhone app is available now in the App Store.
This update is part of Air Canada’s broader effort to streamline the travel experience through mobile innovations that reduce friction and provide timely, relevant information to passengers throughout their journey.
