Volaris is strengthening its commitment to connecting friends and families across the border with a new route between León, Guanajuato and Los Angeles. The airline will operate flights between Del Bajío International Airport (BJX) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“This route further demonstrates our dedication to reuniting loved ones on both sides of the border with affordable, reliable service,” said Holger Blankenstein, Commercial Director at Volaris. “So far we have carried nearly five million passengers to and from California, and that figure continues to grow as we operate more than 160 weekly flights to the seven destinations we serve in the state.”
Volaris currently leads Mexican carriers in the number of routes across Mexico and the United States. The airline offers 140 routes to 61 destinations, including 20 destinations in the United States and 38 domestic destinations within Mexico.
The new León–Los Angeles service expands travel options for passengers in central Mexico, providing additional frequency and convenient connections to North America’s west coast. By adding this link, Volaris aims to offer competitive fares while maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards that support cross-border travel for business, family visits and leisure.
Passengers can expect Volaris’ standard low-fare model, with options to tailor fares and add services according to travel needs. The four-times-weekly schedule is positioned to accommodate both short stays and longer visits, offering travelers greater flexibility when planning trips between Guanajuato and southern California.
As the carrier continues to expand its network, travelers from León gain easier access to Los Angeles’ large international connections and cultural attractions, while residents of southern California benefit from a direct link to central Mexico. Volaris’ network growth reflects ongoing demand for convenient, cost-effective air travel between the two regions.
With this addition, Volaris reinforces its role as a major provider of cross-border air services, balancing route frequency, affordability and safety to serve communities on both sides of the border.
