Solvang’s annual Julefest runs through Jan. 5 and offers family-friendly activities such as a Maker’s Market, photos with Santa, holiday carolers, and nightly light-and-music shows. New for 2024, the Copenhagen Countdown offers a European-style countdown to 2025, timed to coincide with Copenhagen at 3 p.m., creating a unique cross-cultural celebration. The Santa Ynez Valley Holiday Lights Festival at the Botanic Garden is open select times through Dec. 22, showcasing elaborate light installations and festive activities suitable for all ages. In addition to seasonal programming, the region’s more than 200 independent and family-owned boutiques provide abundant holiday shopping opportunities, where visitors can find distinctive gifts and local artisan goods.
