Dreamliner Launches New Nonstop Service to New York

Norwegian Air will introduce nonstop Dreamliner service between Bergen (BGO), Norway, and New York (JFK) next spring. This marks the first direct connection between the two cities in decades. The weekly service will operate from May 9 through Sept. 27.

Flights depart New York on Fridays at 9:00 p.m., arriving in Bergen the following day at 10:35 a.m. The return service leaves Bergen on Saturdays at 6:20 p.m., arriving in New York at 8:05 p.m.

“New York to Bergen has been a long-awaited route and I’m very happy to announce that for the first time in decades, the U.S. and Bergen will get its first direct connection,” said Bjorn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian. He added that Norwegian’s transatlantic routes have been well received and expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming more American travelers on the airline’s new Dreamliners for nonstop flights to Bergen.

In addition to the Bergen–New York route, Norwegian will expand service from London Gatwick (LGW) to several U.S. destinations starting in June, including New York, Los Angeles (LAX) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).
