SAS Launches Daily Boston–Copenhagen Flights Starting Soon

As part of its strategy to better serve frequent travelers between Scandinavia and the United States, SAS is expanding its Copenhagen (CPH)–Boston (BOS) route to year-round, daily nonstop service. Beginning in late March 2016, SAS will become the first airline to offer a direct flight from Scandinavia to Boston.

In the coming year, SAS plans to operate roughly 500 flights between Copenhagen and Boston and about 6,600 flights between Scandinavia and the United States overall, providing approximately 1.6 million seats on routes connecting the two regions.

“SAS is the strongest carrier between Scandinavia and the U.S., a market where we see growing demand among frequent travelers. Boston has long been a priority for nonstop service, so we are pleased to begin selling tickets for this daily direct connection from Copenhagen. Offering flexible travel options is especially important for our customers who travel for business, and this route is designed to meet the needs of frequent business travelers,” said Rickard Gustafson, CEO of SAS Group.

The service will be operated with an 86-seat Boeing 737-700 BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) and is aimed primarily at business travelers, reflecting growing demand for direct connections between Scandinavia and Boston from the corporate segment.
