American Express and Marriott have introduced the Starwood Preferred Guest American Express Luxury Card, designed for frequent and loyal travelers seeking premium benefits and a strong sign-up bonus.
Applicants who qualify and apply by Oct. 31 can earn 100,000 points after spending $5,000 within the first three months of card membership.
The card also includes a variety of ongoing perks: up to $300 in annual statement credits, an annual complimentary night award, complimentary Gold Elite status, Priority Pass Select membership for airport lounge access and reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fees.
Cardmembers earn points on everyday spending and travel. Eligible purchases at participating SPG and Marriott Rewards hotels earn six points per $1 spent; U.S. restaurants and flights booked directly with airlines earn three points per $1; and other qualifying purchases earn two points per $1.
“We are excited for SPG Card Members to explore, earn points, and experience our extraordinary properties around the world, from palaces in Vienna and Venice to skyscrapers in Hong Kong and Dubai,” said David Flueck, senior vice president, global loyalty, Marriott International. “The new SPG American Express Luxury Card enables Card Members to get the most out of our 29 hotel brands, ranging from the St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton and W Hotels, to Marriott Hotels, Aloft Hotels and Moxy Hotels, providing endless inspiration for them to pursue their passions through travel.”
Eva Reda, executive vice president of global co-brand partnerships at American Express, added that the card follows Marriott’s recent loyalty program updates and reflects feedback from travelers. “No matter where life or business may take our Card Members, our SPG Card products are meant to support them throughout every step of their travel journey. The value and perks of these Cards were developed in response to their feedback, and we love that we are able to meet their travel needs directly.”
