Iberostar Announces Opening of New Resort: Dates & Features

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will open a new resort in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, this December. The all-inclusive Iberostar Playa Mita is set 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta and will offer 454 guestrooms, two pools, a spa, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, five restaurants, several bars, a fitness center and meeting facilities.

The new property reinforces Iberostar’s growing presence in Mexico, where the company currently operates nine resorts. Designed to appeal to both leisure and active travelers, Iberostar Playa Mita combines beachfront access with extensive on-site amenities. Guests can expect diverse dining options across the resort’s restaurants, casual and evening bar service, and recreational features such as tennis courts and golf—ideal for those seeking both relaxation and sport.

The spa and fitness center provide wellness-focused services and programs, while the meeting space accommodates small conferences and events, making the resort suitable for destination weddings and corporate retreats as well as family vacations. Two pools give guests room to swim, sunbathe, and enjoy poolside services without feeling crowded.

“The Riviera Nayarit is an up-and-coming tourist destination, and this development highlights our commitment to promoting and supporting tourism offerings throughout Mexico and to the development of several markets within the country,” said John Long, Iberostar’s vice president of sales and marketing. The statement underscores the company’s strategic investment in regions with rising travel demand and its aim to broaden the variety of options available to visitors to Mexico.

Located within easy reach of Puerto Vallarta’s international airport, Iberostar Playa Mita will be a convenient option for international and domestic travelers. With the combination of comprehensive amenities, beachfront setting and proximity to local attractions, the resort aims to attract couples, families and golfers looking for an all-inclusive experience on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
