A new luxury beachfront resort opened in California this month. Rosewood Miramar Beach is the first ultra-luxury resort in Southern California to offer guestrooms located directly above the sand.
The resort is also Rosewood’s first property in the region, taking its name from the picturesque Miramar shoreline that defines this part of Montecito.
Owned and developed by Caruso, the property reflects a collaborative vision that emphasizes local character and community. Caruso selected Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage the resort because the brand’s management philosophy prioritizes local history, culture and community sensibilities when stewarding a property.
“Rosewood Miramar Beach represents years of careful planning and commitment to the Montecito community. Beyond the stunning setting, its history as a beloved local hospitality landmark makes it uniquely meaningful — it is rooted in the land,” said Rick Caruso, founder and chief executive officer of Caruso and owner of Rosewood Miramar Beach.
Architectural and interior design take cues from the elegant homes and estates of Montecito, resulting in a residential, refined aesthetic that is characteristic of Rosewood properties. The resort blends classic coastal charm with contemporary luxury, offering guests a sense of privacy and warmth alongside high-end finishes and thoughtful details.
The property includes 26 oceanfront suites in addition to a central Manor House, which contains three additional suites. Dining options include three distinct bars and restaurants that showcase a range of culinary experiences. For events and meetings, the resort offers approximately 27,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, complemented by premium amenities designed for relaxation and recreation.
With its rare beachfront location, estate-inspired design and comprehensive amenities, Rosewood Miramar Beach positions itself as a destination for travelers seeking an elevated, authentic Montecito experience by the Pacific.
