SAS is refreshing the interiors of its long-haul fleet with new seating, an upgraded entertainment system and WiFi. Seven Airbus A330/A340 aircraft will receive cabin upgrades that combine modern styling with improved comfort across all travel classes.
The retrofit includes an on-demand entertainment system with HD screens and onboard WiFi. Seating in SAS Go and SAS Plus has been redesigned to incorporate clever storage solutions that free up personal space. In SAS Business, every seat provides direct aisle access and converts to a fully flat bed for optimal rest. Bedding is supplied by Hästens, the Swedish bedmaker, ensuring a high-quality sleeping experience for passengers.
“SAS customers will enjoy a totally new travel experience in our upgraded cabins. The new interior is designed to meet the needs of frequent flyers and substantially enhances our customer offer,” said Stefan Larsson, General Manager Americas, SAS.
The first aircraft featuring the new cabins is scheduled to enter service in early 2015, with the remainder of the long-haul fleet being retrofitted throughout the year. SAS serves several U.S. gateways, including New York (EWR), Chicago (ORD), Washington (IAD), San Francisco (SFO) and, beginning in August, Houston (HOU).
