LATOUR’s new people-to-people program, Shalom Cuba, offers an immersive eight-night journey through Cuba’s Jewish life, arts, music, neighborhoods, and history. The itinerary visits Havana, Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad, providing a close-up view of Jewish community sites and Cuban cultural landmarks.
Highlights of the program include stops at Havana’s Plaza de la Revolución and the El Patronato Jewish Community Center, a visit to Adath Israel Synagogue, and a tour of Cuba’s only kosher butcher. The trip also features a visit to Finca Vigía (Lookout Farm), Ernest Hemingway’s preserved winter home, where his 9,000-volume library, typewriter, and yacht remain on display.
Participants will explore additional cultural attractions such as the home and studio of Cuban artist José Rodríguez Fuster and the historic colonial theater Teatro de la Caridad. Departures are available from Miami.
The tour price is $4,299 per person, based on double occupancy. The cost includes round-trip airfare between Miami and Cuba, accommodations, ground transportation and airport transfers, a cultural exchange program, a bilingual guide, a tour manager, the Cuban visa and required health insurance, the meals specified in the itinerary, tips, porterage, hotel service charges and taxes, and one checked bag. The package also includes on-the-ground cell phone rental for traveler convenience.
