Autograph Collection Marks 10-Year Milestone with New Hotels

The Autograph Collection, Marriott International’s curated portfolio of upscale independent hotels, has reached a milestone with the addition of its 50th property: Hotel Punta Islita in Costa Rica. Situated on 85 acres along the Nicoya Peninsula in southwestern Guanacaste province, the resort combines coastal scenery, thoughtful design and a strong commitment to sustainability.

Hotel Punta Islita offers 57 guest rooms and suites, many of which open to sweeping views of the Pacific coastline. The property includes two swimming pools, a nine-hole golf course, a full-service spa, two restaurants, and a secluded beach served by a beach club. For convenience, there is a private landing strip that accommodates small commuter aircraft, and the hotel provides versatile meeting and event spaces for intimate gatherings and special occasions.

Sustainability is central to Hotel Punta Islita’s identity. The resort runs active programs in reforestation, wildlife protection and water conservation, inviting guests to learn about and participate in local environmental initiatives. These efforts reflect the region’s natural beauty and the hotel’s role in supporting long-term ecological stewardship.

Since its launch less than three years ago, the Autograph Collection has quickly expanded, welcoming 50 hotels across 13 countries. The collection emphasizes independent character and unique guest experiences, bringing together hotels that celebrate local culture, design and hospitality standards. “By championing independence and embracing extraordinary hotel experiences like Hotel Punta Islita, Autograph remains one of the fastest-growing independent hotel collections in the industry,” said Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International.
