Stay at Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald: Alpine Luxury & Spectacular Views

Belvedere, The Right Choice

A gorgeous view of iconic peaks like the Eiger, inventive gourmet dinners and a saltwater Jacuzzi in the hotel garden are just a few highlights that make a stay at the first-class Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald, run by the Hauser family, truly memorable.

Impressive Views and Warm Hospitality

Owned and managed by the Hauser family since it opened in 1907 and now in its third generation, Hotel Belvedere is ideally situated just a five-minute walk from the lively village center. The hotel offers a breathtaking panorama of the world-famous Eiger.

All 56 rooms are non-smoking, each with a balcony, free WiFi, a comfortable sitting area, a private bathroom and coffee and tea-making facilities. A selection of pillows is available to ensure a refreshing night’s sleep.

As a member of the renowned Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the hotel’s chefs prepare refined gourmet menus that include Swiss classics as well as lighter international dishes with Mediterranean and Asian influences. The extensive breakfast buffet provides a wide choice of dishes to suit every taste and prepare you for the day.

Relax in the spa area, which features a saltwater Jacuzzi in the garden, an indoor swimming pool (6 by 14 meters), an indoor Jacuzzi, a Finnish sauna, a glacier steam bath and a heated relaxation gallery. The Finnish sauna and glacier steam bath are clothing-free areas for adults only. The heated gallery requires swimwear and is therefore open to families with children.

The Belvedere is the first hotel in Switzerland to be awarded the Travelife Golden Award, a sustainability distinction presented by major European tour operators.

Grindelwald in winter is much more than skiing: there are 213 kilometers of groomed ski slopes, numerous snowshoe trails, sled runs and more than 100 kilometers of marked winter hiking paths. On winter mornings, Hotel Belvedere runs a private ski bus to the valley stations of Grindelwald’s mountain railways and cableways for guest convenience, and the public bus stop is located right in front of the hotel.

In summer, areas such as Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg, Männlichen and Schilthorn provide endless outdoor opportunities: 100 kilometers of hiking trails, 160 kilometers of mountain-bike routes, mountain railways and cable cars, themed trails, climbing and alpine touring zones, adventure sports, waterfalls and alpine lakes — all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Grindelwald showcases nature at its finest in the heart of Switzerland and is reachable within 90–120 minutes’ drive from the country’s major airports. The village offers a unique mountain experience centered on the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks, which have appeared in films such as The Eiger Sanction and several James Bond movies. The Jungfraujoch—“Top of Europe”—features the highest railway station on the continent and access to one of the longest glaciers in the Alps; it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and ranks among the region’s must-see attractions.
