Qatar Airways has increased frequency on its popular Cairo–Doha route to three daily flights. The Doha-based carrier added five services to its previous schedule of 16 weekly flights to meet growing passenger demand, bringing the total to 21 weekly frequencies on the route.
“In the space of just three months, Qatar Airways has increased frequency on the route by 24 percent, operating three daily flights each morning, afternoon and evening, and with better connectivity to an array of destinations including Beijing (PEK), Bangkok (BKK), Dubai (DXB), Manila (MNL), Hong Kong (HKG), Singapore (SIN), Colombo (CMB) and cities across the Gulf,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. This increased schedule improves connections for travellers transiting through Doha to major Asian and Gulf cities.
The expanded Cairo–Doha service is operated using a mix of Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 777 aircraft, all configured in a two-class layout to serve both business and leisure passengers. Qatar Airways now operates a total of 35 weekly flights to Egypt across its network, reflecting a broader commitment to strengthen links between Egypt and destinations served via Doha.
These additional frequencies offer passengers more options for departure times and smoother connections through Hamad International Airport. Morning, afternoon and evening departures make it easier for travellers to plan itineraries that align with onward flights, business schedules or leisure plans.
The airline’s fleet mix on the route provides flexibility in capacity and service level. Narrow-body Airbus A320s are used for lighter demand periods or shorter sectors, while larger A330 and Boeing 777 aircraft accommodate higher passenger volumes and longer-haul connections. All aircraft feature two-class cabins, catering to passengers seeking either economy or business class services.
By increasing frequencies on the Cairo–Doha sector, Qatar Airways aims to capture additional transfer traffic and support stronger connectivity between Egypt and key international markets. The enhanced schedule benefits tourists, business travellers and the Egyptian diaspora by providing more frequent, convenient connections to Asia, the Gulf and beyond.
