DFS Group, the world’s leading luxury duty-free retailer, has unveiled its new T Galleria by DFS brand in Hawaii, one of the locations chosen to introduce the refreshed downtown concept. Majority owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, DFS plans to roll out the updated brand identity and elevated store design to its existing non-airport Galleria locations over the next 18 months.
“We are proud to launch the revamped brand identity in Waikiki, where we opened a downtown store more than 40 years ago,” said Philippe Schaus, CEO of DFS Group. “The name T Galleria honors our core focus — serving travelers. The new logo is simple, accessible and pronounceable worldwide, inspired by the idea of flight and movement and evoking the wings of a modern aircraft.”
Founded in Hong Kong in 1960 to serve travelers seeking a curated selection of luxury products, DFS now offers more than 700 brands across 420 locations on three continents. Its portfolio includes duty-free stores in major global airports, downtown Galleria stores, and affiliate and resort locations across Asia, Australasia and the United States.
Schaus described the downtown rebranding as “the cherry on the cake,” and said it completes a series of significant store investments made in recent years. The refreshed Galleria destinations combine updated design with new services and experiences, such as beauty concierge assistance, members’ lounges, and rotating exhibitions showcasing rare, exclusive and limited-edition items from leading luxury brands. Each store highlights destination-themed merchandise alongside offerings across four pillars of luxury shopping: beauty and fragrances, fashion and accessories, watches and jewelry, and wine and spirits.
“Our downtown Gallerias are on par with the best luxury department stores in the world,” Schaus added.
T Galleria Hawaii by DFS, located in downtown Waikiki, features more than 140 brands across 210,000 square feet of retail space. The store is staffed by more than 470 multilingual sales associates trained across categories and brands. T Galleria continues to honor the DFS 100 percent Worldwide Guarantee: once travelers return home, DFS will exchange, repair or accept returns of purchased merchandise.
“DFS was born from curiosity about the world, a passion for discovery and a commitment to luxury and quality,” Schaus said. “Our aim is to inspire travelers to enhance their journeys with a carefully curated selection of exceptional products and outstanding service. Our traveling customers are at the heart of our business, and the new T brand reflects that focus: ‘T’ stands for traveler.”
