Hilton Opens Hilton Mandalay, Expanding Presence in Myanmar

Hilton Mandalay opened last month. The property sits opposite Mandalay Hill, home to many of the region’s most celebrated pagodas, monasteries and the historic Mandalay Palace. Its central location places guests within easy reach of the city’s principal attractions.

“As the former royal capital of Myanmar, Mandalay is an exciting destination for business and leisure travelers alike with its bustling industry and abundance of cultural, religious and historic attractions,” said Sean Wooden, vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “We look forward to expanding our presence in this sought-after travel destination and introducing Hilton’s world renowned hospitality to Mandalay-bound travelers.”

The hotel features 231 guestrooms, many with private balconies and large terraces that overlook Mandalay Hill. Select accommodations include kitchenettes for added convenience. Dining options on site cover a range of tastes: Café Mandalay serves all-day and Southeast Asian fare, Bungkus offers upscale deli-style selections, and a lobby bar provides a relaxed spot for drinks. Public amenities include flexible meeting and event spaces, an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a spa scheduled to open later this year. Guests can also take advantage of complimentary bicycle rentals to explore the surrounding area.

“As we continue to grow our footprint across Myanmar and Southeast Asia, we are pleased to provide guests with more opportunities to experience our best-in-class service with the opening of Hilton Mandalay,” said Paul Hutton, vice president, operations, Southeast Asia, Hilton. “With its location in the heart of Mandalay, surrounded by rich natural and cultural beauty, guests staying at Hilton Mandalay are poised to have a captivating cultural experience whether they are traveling for business or leisure.”

With its combination of convenient location, panoramic views and a mix of dining and leisure facilities, Hilton Mandalay aims to serve both travelers seeking cultural exploration and those on business visits. The property’s proximity to key historic sites makes it a practical base for sightseeing, while its meeting spaces and amenities support corporate and event needs. Complimentary services such as bike rentals enhance the guest experience by encouraging active exploration of Mandalay’s streets, temples and markets.

The new hotel’s emphasis on local surroundings—most notably Mandalay Hill and nearby cultural landmarks—complements Hilton’s broader strategy in the region to offer travelers high standards of comfort paired with authentic destination experiences. Whether visitors come to explore Myanmar’s heritage or to attend business engagements, the property’s facilities and service are designed to provide a comfortable, convenient and culturally engaging stay.
