Air Canada Launches New Vancouver–Dublin Nonstop Service

Air Canada is expanding its route network from Vancouver (YVR) with plans to introduce new non-stop seasonal service to Dublin (DUB) next summer. This addition builds on a series of enhancements at Air Canada’s Vancouver hub for 2016, which include new transborder routes to Chicago (ORD), San Jose (SJC) and San Diego (SAN), increased frequency to London Heathrow (LHR) with double daily flights, and the only direct flights between Canada and Brisbane, Australia (BNE).

“Air Canada continues to strategically grow its international network at YVR with the only non-stop flights to Dublin during the peak summer period. This route offers a convenient option for travellers on Canada’s west coast who want to visit the Emerald Isle—famous for its literary heritage, vibrant arts scene, world-class golf and dramatic landscapes. It will also appeal to customers from Ireland wishing to fly non-stop to experience the many attractions Vancouver and British Columbia have to offer,” said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines, Air Canada.

Beginning June 10, 2016, Air Canada will operate three weekly flights between Vancouver and Dublin using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The service will provide both premium and economy cabin options for passengers, delivering a balance of comfort and value for transatlantic travel.

The new seasonal link further strengthens Vancouver’s role as a Pacific gateway and reflects Air Canada’s broader strategy to expand international connectivity from its west coast hub. By adding selective routes and increased frequencies, the airline aims to serve growing demand while offering more nonstop choices for travellers connecting between North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

Passengers booking the Vancouver–Dublin service can expect the airline’s standard onboard amenities and cabin configurations for the 767-300ER, including dedicated premium seating and a full economy cabin. The introduction of this route is positioned to support both leisure traffic—particularly during the summer peak—and business travel between British Columbia and Ireland.

Air Canada’s announcement reinforces its commitment to evolving its schedule to meet customer needs and to provide enhanced travel options from YVR. The carrier’s approach combines added frequencies to established destinations with new seasonal services to provide wider choice and more convenient nonstop connections for travellers across its network.
