JetBlue is expanding its service to Cuba as travel between the United States and the island becomes more accessible. In November the airline confirmed it will begin flights to Frank País Airport in Holguín, Cuba’s fourth-largest city. These new services will link Holguín with JetBlue’s hub at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Earlier this year JetBlue began service to Havana’s José Martí International Airport and added flights to Santa Clara (SNU) on August 31 and to Camagüey on November 3. The carrier continues to grow its Cuban network to offer passengers more choices and convenient connections through its South Florida hub.
JetBlue faces competition on U.S.–Cuba routes from other major carriers, including American Airlines and United Airlines, all of which have increased their presence on the island as demand rises.
Airlines, hotel groups, cruise lines and tour operators have been moving quickly into the Cuban market since the U.S. government relaxed travel restrictions, creating new opportunities for tourism and travel-related services between the two countries.
