Southwest Airlines launched daily nonstop service between Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) on April 14. The flights depart Houston at 1:35 p.m. and depart Pittsburgh at 11:50 a.m., operated with Boeing 737-700 aircraft. Southwest is also investing in a $100 million international terminal at William P. Hobby Airport, preparing to add flights to Mexico, the Caribbean, and other Latin American destinations in 2015.
On the same day, Southwest began daily nonstop service between Houston and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina. The Charlotte flights depart at 11:45 a.m., while the Houston departures are scheduled for 11:45 a.m. as well. In addition to these routes, Southwest has announced plans to launch daily nonstop service to New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) beginning in June.
