SAS has expanded its pre-order dining service to include more short-haul flights across Europe.
When the airline first introduced the offering last year, it was limited to SAS Go (economy) passengers on routes lasting longer than two hours. The service lets travelers choose in advance from a range of dietary options including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, gluten- and lactose-free, and pork-free meals.
Now the pre-order option is available on flights of 80 minutes or longer, effectively doubling the number of flights where passengers can select meals in advance. SAS reports this extension covers roughly 80,000 flights per year, giving many more travelers the ability to secure a preferred meal before departure.
There are 11 meal choices on offer, each priced at €11. Customers can reserve a meal at the time of booking or later through the My Bookings section on the carrier’s website.
SAS says the expansion supports its environmental and sustainability goals by helping the airline load an appropriate amount and variety of meals tailored to demand on each specific flight. This reduces waste and improves operational efficiency while offering passengers greater choice and convenience.
