Atlantic City, New Jersey
Atlantic City continues to reinvent itself with a string of hotel openings and property upgrades in 2023. Nobu Hotel Atlantic City is scheduled to open within Caesars Atlantic City, and the boutique Cardinal Restaurant & Hotel is also debuting this year. Major renovations have refreshed several casinos: Bally’s Atlantic City completed a $100 million renovation, and Ocean Casino Resort unveiled an $85 million upgrade. Island Park at Showboat, planned to open in summer 2023, will feature a 103,000-square-foot indoor water park—one of the largest of its kind.
Dallas, Texas
Dallas’ arts district is marking milestone anniversaries in 2023, giving visitors even more reason to explore its museums and galleries. The Dallas Museum of Art celebrates its 120th anniversary, while The Nasher Sculpture Center marks 20 years. The neighborhood’s hotel offerings are expanding as well: the HALL Arts Hotel had been the primary lodging option, and a new JW Marriott is set to open in spring 2023, offering more choices for travelers who want to stay within the cultural core.

Kansas City, Missouri
Kansas City will be in the national spotlight as host of the 2023 NFL Draft in April, with events centered near Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial. The Kansas City Zoo plans to open a new 600,000-gallon aquarium in 2023, adding to its family-friendly attractions. Travelers flying in will notice an updated travel experience at Kansas City International Airport, which is opening a new single-terminal facility in March 2023 to streamline connections and modernize passenger services.
St. Pete, Florida
St. Pete’s hospitality scene and cultural calendar grow in 2023. Moxy Hotel by Marriott is slated to open in the EDGE District as the neighborhood’s first lifestyle hotel, and AC Hotel St. Petersburg by Marriott is expected to welcome guests in January 2023. Art lovers can look forward to new offerings at The Dali Museum: a major exhibit titled The Shape of Dreams opens in November and runs through April 30, 2023. In addition, Dalí Alive, an immersive multisensory traveling experience, is scheduled to visit the area in spring 2023, providing a fresh way to engage with Surrealist art.
