Ethiopian Airlines has increased its connectivity between London Heathrow and Addis Ababa by offering a daily evening service from London. The new flight operates with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and follows the same timetable as the existing service: departing London Heathrow at 21:00 and arriving at Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport at approximately 07:00 the following morning. The return leg departs Addis Ababa at 13:00 and arrives back in London at around 19:00.
The additional evening departure provides passengers with greater flexibility when planning both business and leisure travel. With the overnight schedule, travelers can take advantage of late departures from London while arriving in Addis Ababa early enough to begin the day on arrival. Likewise, the mid-afternoon departure from Addis Ababa allows for arrival in London in the early evening, a convenient time for onward connections or immediate access to city hotels and transport.
“We are pleased to now offer a daily service to our customers to and from London, one of our most important routes,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines. He noted that the added frequency supports the airline’s commitment to enhancing route options and serving the needs of both corporate and leisure clients. Operating this service with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner underscores Ethiopian’s emphasis on passenger comfort and modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Ethiopian’s two-class layout includes 24 business class seats and a larger economy cabin. Business class offers passengers increased privacy, extra legroom and enhanced in-flight service suitable for long-haul journeys, while the economy cabin provides competitive amenities and entertainment options designed for a comfortable flight. The Dreamliner’s improved cabin pressurization, humidity control and quieter environment are additional advantages for passengers flying on this route.
Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its global reach. As a Pan-African carrier, the airline serves a broad international network across five continents. Its modern fleet and strategic route planning aim to connect Africa with major global hubs, supporting tourism, trade and business links. The airline’s growth reflects ongoing investments in aircraft, staff training and route development to maintain reliable and frequent services.
For travelers planning trips between the United Kingdom and Ethiopia, the daily service simplifies scheduling and increases options for departure times, making it easier to match flights with meetings, events, or personal itineraries. The addition of the evening London departure is particularly useful for passengers who prefer to travel after business hours or who value overnight travel that maximizes daytime productivity at either origin or destination.
Passengers are encouraged to check Ethiopian Airlines’ official channels for the most current flight times, fare classes and booking options. Flight schedules can change seasonally, and baggage allowances, check-in procedures and in-flight services may vary depending on fare type and travel class. Booking ahead and reviewing travel requirements will help ensure a smooth journey.
Ethiopian’s commitment to operating modern aircraft like the Boeing 787, combined with frequent services on key international routes such as London–Addis Ababa, reinforces its role as a major carrier connecting Africa to the rest of the world. The daily evening departure from London Heathrow enhances convenience for a wide range of passengers and strengthens the airline’s position on a critical long-haul route.
