The new Hyatt Times Square introduced New York City’s highest rooftop lounge on Feb. 14. Bar 54, located on the hotel’s 54th floor, is a 122-seat indoor/outdoor lounge offering specialty cocktails, fine wines and a selection of small plates. The venue features uninterrupted river-to-river views across Manhattan.
Renowned mixologist Julie Reiner created the spirits list and cocktail program for Bar 54. Reiner, known for her work at notable bars such as Clover Club and Flatiron Lounge and for her consulting firm Mixtress Consulting, develops beverage programs, signature cocktails and training for restaurants, resorts and spirits brands. The cocktail menu will rotate seasonally and emphasizes locally sourced ingredients and house-made syrups to highlight fresh flavors.
The Hyatt Times Square opened in December 2013 at 135 W. 45th St. This 54-story hotel contains 487 guest rooms and a range of amenities, including a modern fitness center, a full-service spa, T‑45 Diner and approximately 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space suitable for events and gatherings.
Bar 54 aims to blend a sophisticated nightlife atmosphere with panoramic city scenery, appealing to both hotel guests and local residents seeking an elevated dining and drinking experience. With its indoor/outdoor layout, the lounge provides an adaptable setting for intimate evenings, social gatherings and special occasions, all set against the skyline of Manhattan.
Guests can expect an attentive service team trained to complement the cocktail program, with knowledgeable staff who can recommend pairings from the wine list or guide visitors through the seasonally updated small-plates menu. The focus on quality ingredients and craft preparation reflects a growing trend among Manhattan venues to combine inventive cocktails with thoughtfully curated food offerings.
The Hyatt’s location in the heart of Times Square places Bar 54 within easy reach of Broadway theaters, dining destinations and cultural attractions, making it an attractive stop before or after shows and performances. The hotel’s combination of modern amenities and a destination rooftop lounge positions it as a notable addition to the city’s hospitality and nightlife scene.
