Singapore Airlines Launches New Nonstop Service to Seattle

Singapore Airlines announced a new nonstop route between Seattle (SEA) and Singapore (SIN), beginning Sept. 3, 2019. The service makes Seattle the carrier’s sixth U.S. destination, joining Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO).

The route will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft configured with 42 business-class seats, 24 premium-economy seats and 187 economy seats, providing a modern cabin and long-range performance suited to the transpacific sector.

“Our new non-stop flights to Seattle are another demonstration of our commitment to expand our operations in the important U.S. market and grow our network reach,” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines. He noted the service will strengthen Singapore’s role as a hub by offering faster and more convenient connectivity from Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia to North America.

The launch builds on Singapore Airlines’ 2017 partnership with Alaska Airlines and leverages Alaska’s Seattle-centric route network to feed traffic into the nonstop connection to Singapore.

With the addition of the Seattle route, Singapore Airlines increased its U.S. schedule to 57 weekly flights by the following year. Tickets for the new service went on sale Nov. 7.
