AmaWaterways Reveals New Brand Identity and River Cruise Experience

AmaWaterways has unveiled a refreshed brand identity that honors its history while signaling its vision for the future. Now in its 23rd year and operating 29 ships across four continents, the company’s rebrand aims to strengthen its connection with guests and elevate the river cruising experience.

The updated visual identity centers on a modern yet familiar look. A refined logo—drawing on the company’s musical roots—pairs with a vibrant color palette that includes destination-specific accents. Authentic photography featuring real guests and crew replaces staged imagery to convey genuine moments on board. Complementing the visual changes is a redesigned website that offers a cleaner, more intuitive experience, blending immersive storytelling with streamlined search and booking tools.

“Our rebrand reflects who we are today and where we are going,” said Catherine Powell, CEO of AmaWaterways. “There is a warmth and elegance to the new colors, and a more authentic way in which we are expressing ourselves that feels true to the AmaWaterways spirit. We are bringing our personality, passion and sense of discovery to life more clearly than ever before. There is such an exciting momentum in river cruising right now and we want a brand that truly cuts through, that people feel connected to and know immediately what it stands for.”

Fleet growth is a central focus for the company, which plans to operate more than 40 ships by 2030. Recent additions include two new vessels sailing the Magdalena River in Colombia. The company also announced the imminent launch of AmaSofia on the Danube, a new ship set to debut on the Mekong River in 2027, and upcoming launches of AmaFiora and AmaRudi. Additional fleet announcements are expected in the coming months as AmaWaterways continues to expand its global presence.

Kristin Karst, co-founder and chief brand ambassador, reflected on the evolution: “As one of the founders of AmaWaterways, it fills me with joy to see how beautifully our brand has grown while staying true to the spirit that inspired us from the very beginning. From our first sailings to the global community we cherish today, every step has been guided by a passion for heartfelt service, cultural connection, and creating spaces where travelers feel truly cared for. This refreshed brand identity celebrates how far we’ve come, and I am incredibly proud of the team that brought it to life. Looking ahead, I am more confident than ever in our future and excited for all the new journeys and meaningful moments we will share with our guests in this new era.”

The rebrand positions AmaWaterways to deepen guest engagement through clearer storytelling, thoughtful design and expanded itineraries. By combining authentic visuals, an approachable online experience and ongoing fleet investment, the company aims to highlight the distinct pleasures of river cruising—intimate connections with destinations, immersive cultural experiences and attentive service—while inviting both new and returning travelers to discover what the next chapter of AmaWaterways has to offer.
