Mother and Child Reunion: Healing After Adoption or Separation

The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, Ga., will host “Posture & Poise — A Mother/Daughter Day” on Saturday, Nov. 22. This full-day event invites mothers and daughters of all ages to take part in guided coaching sessions led by wellness professionals Marie Artman, M.Ed., and Donna Mastrianni, L.E. The program blends gentle movement, practical posture training, and lifestyle techniques to promote better alignment, strength, and overall well-being.

The day begins with a 45-minute invigorating walk along the resort’s scenic paths, followed by a lively dance class designed to enhance coordination and confidence. Attendees will also climb to the top of the historic St. Simons Lighthouse for a memorable shared experience and panoramic views. During lunch, Marie Artman will lead an instructional session focused on posture improvement: she will teach methods to reduce pain, increase core strength, and cultivate graceful carriage suitable for everyday life.

After lunch, Donna Mastrianni will present an introduction to aromatherapy, explaining how thoughtfully chosen scents can support relaxation, mood balance, and a healthier lifestyle. Participants will learn practical ways to incorporate aromatherapy into home routines and self-care practices.

About the coaches: Marie Artman brings three decades of experience in the fitness and wellness fields, including a degree in dance therapy and an advanced degree in exercise physiology and cardiac rehabilitation. Her background includes long-term affiliation with the Forbes five-star Cloister Resort on Sea Island, where she developed specialized programs for guests. Donna Mastrianni is a licensed master esthetician and certified aromatherapist who lectures on skin care and wellness. She developed the Donne & Cavalli line of botanical skin care products and has served as spa director at high-profile spas, including the PGA Tour La Terra Spa.

The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is priced at $150 per person. The schedule combines movement sessions, instructional workshops, and time for reflection, making it a well-rounded day for mothers and daughters to connect while learning tools for improved posture, movement quality, and self-care.
