Carlson Rezidor recently launched a pilot program to introduce on-site bike rental stations at selected Radisson Blu and Radisson hotels. The initiative aims to give guests an easy, healthy and eco-friendly transportation option during their stay.
“Carlson Rezidor is committed to adding services and amenities that enhance the guest experience, and we are pleased to offer on-site bike rentals,” said Javier Rosenberg, COO, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “Bicycle transportation has grown rapidly in popularity. Many travelers want more exercise while away from home and prefer greener, cost-effective ways to get around; bikes meet those needs.”
The rental stations are operated by Spinway, a company that manages bike rental stations. The bicycles, designed by Avanti, focus on comfort, durability and ease of use. Features include puncture-proof tires, a chain protector, enclosed gears and brakes, internal cabling, an adjustable seat and a custom carrier for luggage or small items. Each rental station holds between 4 and 32 bikes and uses an electronic credit card processing unit to handle rentals conveniently and securely.
Participating properties in the pilot program include Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago; Radisson Blu Minneapolis, Downtown; Radisson Hotel Duluth-Harborview; Radisson Hotel Los Angeles Midtown at USC; Radisson Resort at the Port; Radisson Hotel Portland Airport; and Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside. The pilot will help Carlson Rezidor evaluate guest demand, operational logistics and the potential to expand the program to additional locations.
By offering on-site bike rentals, Carlson Rezidor aims to support sustainable travel choices, promote active lifestyles for guests, and provide an affordable, flexible way to explore local neighborhoods. The program reflects a growing trend among hotels to add mobility services that deliver convenience and local experiences while reducing environmental impact.
