Hotels Favored by Millionaires: Where the Wealthy Stay

A new survey by wealth research firm New World Wealth identified the hotels most favored by millionaires. Topping the list was the Bellagio in Las Vegas, which the firm named the No. 1 hotel in the world among affluent travelers. Andrew Amoils, head of research at New World Wealth, told CNBC that the Bellagio’s popularity among wealthy guests was somewhat unexpected but clear: many wealthy travelers choose to stay there. The company reached these findings after surveying more than 800 millionaires.

Other hotels that featured prominently in the results include New York’s Plaza Hotel, the Mandarin Oriental in London, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, and Raffles Hotel Singapore. All are established five-star properties and are widely regarded for their service, location, and history. Although these venues share a reputation for luxury, the Bellagio stands out as the most affordable option among them, with average nightly rates typically in the few-hundred-dollar range. In contrast, properties such as the Plaza and the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc are often considered among the world’s most iconic and can command significantly higher rates.

Beyond hotels, New World Wealth’s report also highlighted other travel preferences of wealthy individuals, listing top-rated trains, airlines, and even fly-fishing rivers favored by affluent travelers. The survey offers a broad view of high-end travel habits and the brands and experiences that resonate most with the wealthy market.
