Boeing and LATAM Airlines Group announced the delivery of the carrier’s first 787-9 Dreamliner. With this aircraft, LATAM will be the first airline in Latin America to operate both the 787-8 and 787-9 variants of the Dreamliner family. The carrier plans to begin 787-9 service on South American routes in April.
The addition increases LATAM’s 787 fleet to 11 aircraft, the largest Dreamliner fleet in the region. LATAM has outlined plans to expand its Dreamliner fleet to 32 aircraft over the coming years, which will include 10 787-9s.
