Dubai Duty Free, one of the world’s premier one-stop shopping destinations, recorded sales exceeding $1.9 billion in 2014, marking a 7.3 percent increase compared with 2013.

The year closed particularly strong: to celebrate its 31st anniversary in December, Dubai Duty Free ran a three-day, sitewide promotion from Dec. 18–20 offering a 25 percent discount across a broad range of merchandise. That promotion generated $51.4 million in sales over a 72-hour period.

“We are thrilled to announce such a positive year during which the operation went from strength to strength,” said Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman of Dubai Duty Free. He also expressed gratitude to the organization’s staff, suppliers and customers, noting they are essential to continued growth and success.

Looking forward, Dubai Duty Free plans to continue refurbishing Concourse C and is preparing for the opening of a new 75,000-square-foot retail area in Concourse D, further expanding its retail footprint and enhancing the shopping experience for travelers.
