“We are immensely proud to officially launch our airport expansion. Our growth plan will see us welcome over 58 million passengers annually – offering global travelers the best services the industry has to offer,” said Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, COO of HIA. “Through the expansion, we have upgraded our facilities and offerings to create an outstanding destination for passengers. From world-class services to a wide selection of food and retail options, the expansion reinforces our ambition to remain one of the world’s leading airports.”
ORCHARD is an indoor tropical garden centered around a water feature within the terminal expansion. The space contains more than 300 trees and over 25,000 plants, all sourced from sustainably managed forests worldwide, providing a calm, green environment for travelers.

The expansion improves passenger flow and reduces wait times with a new transfer hall on Concourse C, making transfers faster and more convenient. Qatar Duty Free has introduced a variety of new retail and dining options, including the world’s first Oreo Café inside an airport, expanding choices for shoppers and diners alike.
Oryx Garden Hotel, located in the north plaza, opens as the airport’s second on-site hotel and emphasizes sustainable design and operations. The terminal expansion also includes four new lounges, offering more comfortable spaces for travelers to relax and work.
“We are very pleased to be launching the expansion of Hamad International Airport, which has evolved into a benchmark for sustainable, world-class airport facilities. HIA continues to demonstrate innovative planning, execution and investment—strengthening its role as a preferred hub for global travelers and reinforcing its standing among the industry’s leaders,” said H.E. Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group. “The newly expanded terminal better connects passengers to destinations around the world, enhances travel experiences and showcases the State of Qatar’s culture and hospitality.”
