Philippine Airlines and Turkish Airlines Announce Codeshare Partnership

Philippine Airlines and Turkish Airlines will launch a codeshare partnership effective July 1, expanding flight options for travelers between the Philippines and Turkey.

The agreement was signed at the IATA AGM 2015 in Miami by Jaime J. Bautista, President and COO of Philippine Airlines, and Temel Kotil, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Turkish Airlines.

Under the codeshare arrangement, Philippine Airlines will place its marketing code on Turkish Airlines’ three weekly flights operating on the Istanbul (IST)–Manila (MNL) route. Turkish Airlines, in turn, will market Philippine Airlines’ domestic services between Manila–Cebu (CEB) and Manila–Davao (DVO).

Both carriers have indicated plans to extend the codeshare as they introduce additional routes linking the two countries, aiming to offer passengers smoother connections, greater schedule flexibility, and more seamless booking options.

This partnership strengthens connectivity between Southeast Asia and Europe by combining network strengths: Philippine Airlines’ domestic reach in the Philippines and Turkish Airlines’ extensive international routes via its Istanbul hub. Passengers can expect coordinated schedules and expanded choices for travel itineraries involving the Philippines and onward connections through Istanbul.

As code-sharing takes effect, travelers should check their chosen carrier for the most up-to-date flight schedules, flight numbers, and booking details. Baggage allowances, frequent-flyer benefits, and check-in procedures may vary by operating carrier, so passengers are advised to confirm relevant policies when booking and before departure.

The collaboration reflects both airlines’ efforts to improve regional accessibility and to provide better connections for business and leisure travelers moving between the Philippines and global destinations served through Istanbul.
