Labor Day weekend is fast approaching. If you haven’t made travel plans yet, there’s still time to book a last-minute escape. Below are a few destinations offering memorable events, festivals and seasonal programming to enjoy before summer ends.
Atlantic City, New Jersey
Spend the holiday at the Jersey Shore where resorts and casinos host special Labor Day events. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa opens its long weekend with a burlesque show on Sept. 1, features comedy from Gabriel Iglesias on Sept. 3 and presents a concert by the Scorpions on Sept. 4. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino brings comedian Bert Kreischer for performances on Sept. 3 and 4, and beginning Sept. 2 you can enter to win a 2022 Tesla—the winner will be announced Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. Atlantic City typically ends the weekend with a fireworks display on Sept. 4 at 8 p.m., making for a classic seaside celebration.
Dallas, Texas
Dallas marks Labor Day weekend with the Riverfront Jazz Festival, now in its fifth year. Running Sept. 2–4, the festival showcases about 25 musical acts along the Trinity River, offering live jazz, food vendors and a lively waterfront atmosphere that’s great for music lovers and families alike.

Kansas City, Missouri
Kansas City hosts a variety of festivals over Labor Day weekend. The Kansas City Renaissance Festival opens for the season and runs through October, offering period entertainment, artisans and themed food. The 20th annual Kansas City Irish Fest takes place Sept. 2–4, with live music, cultural performances, shops and Irish fare. Additionally, SantaCaliGon Days presents a free folk and rock music festival running Sept. 2–5, providing diverse musical showcases across multiple stages.
Montauk, New York
On eastern Long Island, Montauk offers a relaxed coastal holiday vibe with several local events. The summer concert series continues with live music on Sept. 6 at Montauk Village Green, and a craft fair takes place Sept. 4–5, where visitors can browse handmade goods, meet local artisans and enjoy seaside dining and scenery.
