Aloft Riyadh Hotel Opens: New Urban Stay in King Abdullah Financial District

Starwood has introduced its tech-forward, millennial-focused Aloft brand to Riyadh after the brand’s success in Abu Dhabi.

“With a portfolio of more than 100 hotels in dynamic destinations around the globe, Aloft remains one of the fastest-growing hotel brands and plans to open a dozen more properties in the Middle East by 2020. Saudi Arabia’s tech-savvy population makes it a natural fit for Aloft’s innovative programming and technology-driven services, which appeal to today’s hyper-connected travellers,” said Brian McGuiness, global brand leader for specialty select brands at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The Riyadh property is conveniently located near government offices, shopping, dining and historic sites, making it suitable for both business and leisure guests. The hotel features 281 guest rooms and several dining options: Dish is an all-day restaurant, Re:fuel serves as a 24-hour stop for snacks and beverages, Crush is a rooftop pool café, and the w xyz lounge offers handcrafted drinks and a social atmosphere. The hotel also includes a fitness centre and more than 700 square feet of flexible meeting and event space across five conference rooms.

Starwood also intends to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia with an additional Aloft property later in the year. Aloft Dhahran will be located within walking distance of the Mall of Dhahran, targeting both local and international travellers.

“Aloft brings a fresh and distinctive offering to the Kingdom’s hospitality market, meeting growing demand for contemporary, tech-forward hotels at an accessible price point,” said Michael Wale, president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
