Wyndham Worldwide was recently named to the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Climate “A” List. The CDP evaluates the carbon transparency and management of leading global brands, and this marks the second consecutive year Wyndham Worldwide has been recognized. The accolade follows the company’s strong performance on the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index, where Wyndham achieved a score of 98, underscoring its transparent approach to addressing climate change.
Wyndham Worldwide also announced it reached its previous carbon-reduction target six years ahead of schedule by cutting emissions by 20 percent. Building on that success, the company has adopted a more ambitious target to reduce emissions by 25 percent by 2025. Earlier this year, Wyndham partnered with United Airlines on the Eco-Skies CarbonChoice initiative, a program designed to help business travelers measure and offset emissions associated with corporate air travel.
“Our progress continues to earn us industry distinctions that recognize our diligent and focused work in sustainability and the value we create for our shareholders, our associates, our partners and communities. We keep raising the bar for ourselves so that we can be better partners and truly make a difference,” said Faith Taylor, senior vice president, corporate social responsibility, Wyndham Worldwide. “This recognition is a clear validation that our accomplishments deliver tangible and meaningful results that align sustainability with effective business operations.”
Wyndham Worldwide’s corporate social responsibility strategy integrates business performance with sustainability, wellness and community engagement. As part of that strategy, the company routinely measures and reports environmental performance across more than 50 million square feet of hospitality property worldwide, tracking energy use, emissions and other indicators to drive continuous improvement.
The company’s approach emphasizes transparency and accountability. By publicly disclosing climate data through CDP and other reporting channels, Wyndham enables stakeholders—investors, customers, partners and employees—to assess progress and support ongoing reductions in environmental impact. That transparency also helps identify opportunities for operational efficiencies that lower costs while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Wyndham’s collaboration with partners, such as the Eco-Skies CarbonChoice program, extends its influence beyond owned properties and operations to address emissions from corporate travel and other business activities. These partnerships provide tools and options for organizations and individuals to quantify their carbon footprints and invest in credible offsets or mitigation projects when reductions are not immediately feasible.
In addition to emissions targets, Wyndham’s sustainability efforts cover a range of initiatives designed to improve resource use and guest experience. These initiatives include energy-efficiency upgrades, water conservation measures, waste-reduction programs and investments in staff training to support operational best practices. By integrating sustainability into daily operations and long-term planning, the company seeks to reduce environmental impacts while maintaining high standards of service.
Wyndham’s sustainability progress has been recognized through external awards and index rankings, reflecting both performance improvements and commitment to long-term goals. The company continues to refine its targets and strategies, aiming to increase ambition in line with evolving science-based guidance and stakeholder expectations.
As Wyndham moves toward its 2025 emissions goal, the company plans to maintain regular reporting and stakeholder engagement to ensure progress remains measurable and verifiable. The combination of ambitious targets, public disclosure and collaborative programs positions Wyndham to continue reducing its environmental footprint while supporting the needs of guests, employees and communities around the world.
