Virgin America Expands Summer Flights to East Coast Cities

Virgin America has announced the return of its popular seasonal flights to help East Coast travelers escape winter weather. Daily nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starts tomorrow, and the airline will also introduce a new seasonal route between JFK and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) beginning Nov. 19.

The airline will operate its three-class cabin configuration—First Class, Main Cabin Select, and Main Cabin—featuring mood lighting, seatback touch-screen entertainment, onboard Wi-Fi, and an on-demand food and drink ordering system to make travel more comfortable and convenient.

“With winter just around the corner, we’re pleased to offer East Coast travelers even more options to help them escape to warmer destinations,” said Adam Green, director of network planning at Virgin America. “With our mood lighting, award-winning guest service, personal entertainment and power outlets at every seat, plus Wi-Fi across the entire fleet, travelers can start their vacation as soon as they step on board.”

Each cabin is designed to deliver a premium experience. Main Cabin features custom leather seating with increased seat pitch for added comfort. Main Cabin Select provides 38 inches of pitch, complimentary food and cocktails, enhanced entertainment, and priority check-in and boarding. First Class offers plush white leather seats with 55 inches of pitch, extensive recline of up to 165 degrees, and lumbar massage functions for a true premium-rest experience. The in-flight entertainment system includes individual seatback touch-screens with movies, TV shows, interactive maps, video games, a music library, surround sound technology, and an on-demand menu so passengers can order from their seats at any time.

Tickets are available for purchase online or by phone through the airline’s reservations line. Special sale fares are being offered for the JFK–FLL route starting at $99 one way and for JFK–PSP starting at $199 one way.
