Marked by a delivery ceremony in Basel, Switzerland, Viking’s luxury-focused fleet has expanded with two new river ships: Viking Honir and Viking Thoth. Since its founding in 1997, Viking has earned more than 450 industry awards and built a reputation as a top choice for travelers who value culture, cuisine, history and immersive experiences.

“We are proud to welcome the Viking Honir and the Viking Thoth to our growing river fleet,” said Torstein Hagen, chairman and CEO of Viking. “With the arrival of these elegant new ships, we are pleased to offer even more curious travelers the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most iconic waterways in Viking comfort.”

Viking Honir, a Viking Longship, will operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. The vessel features 95 staterooms for up to 190 guests and showcases Viking’s signature Scandinavian design, including a squared bow, three full decks, an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace, an asymmetric corridor and genuine two-bedroom suites. In its inaugural year, Viking Honir will sail popular routes such as Rhine Getaway, Christmas on the Rhine and Passage to Eastern Europe.

Viking Thoth was built specifically for the Nile and will serve itineraries like Pharaohs & Pyramids. She is a sister ship to Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, Viking Sobek, Viking Hathor and Viking Amun, and offers 41 staterooms accommodating up to 82 guests. The design and onboard amenities are tailored to provide an authentic, comfortable river-cruise experience on Egypt’s waterways.

Viking continues to expand its stylish river and ocean fleets, with plans to add 23 more river ships by 2028 and an additional 10 ocean ships by 2031.
