Vancouver Food Festival Guide: Top Eats, Dates & Tickets

Until Feb. 2, discover the best of British Columbia’s capital region during the Dine Out Vancouver Festival. Local chefs, culinary experts and restaurateurs are guiding residents and visitors through the city’s top food experiences with a rich lineup of events and tasting opportunities.

Highlights include the Secret Supper Soirée, hosted by the Swallow Tail Supper Club — a three-hour culinary road trip aboard a double-decker bus featuring cocktails, wine tastings, canapés and a multi-course dinner. Other featured events are the After 5 Tea Cocktail Service presented by The Urban Tea Merchant, the East Van Craft Brew & Culinary Tour, Food-tography: A Culinary Photography Tour, the Main Street Resto & Cocktail Tour, and a special pairing of theatre and dinner: a performance of Measure for Measure at Pacific Theatre followed by a three-course meal at Siena Restaurant.

Street Food City III is not to be missed — a celebration of the city’s best food carts and trucks bringing vibrant, casual flavors to one place. For those seeking more, options include the East Side Brunch Crawl, the all-cheese tasting All Yew Need Is Cheese, and the Palate Promenade on Granville Island, which showcases artisan food producers and their craft.

Live music and film tie-ins round out the festival. On Jan. 31 and Feb. 1–2, the Weeds/Minemoto Quartet performs as part of Jazz Out at Cory Weeds’ Cellar Jazz Club, and on Jan. 28 the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi screens at the Blue Moon Theatre in the Shangri-La Hotel, paired with dinner for a memorable night.

Whether you prefer intimate chef-led dinners, street-food gatherings, tasting walks or combined arts-and-dining events, Dine Out Vancouver offers a variety of ways to explore the city’s culinary scene before the festival ends Feb. 2.
