United Airlines will add four new flights from Denver International Airport as part of a move to better compete with regional rival Frontier Airlines.
Beginning June 6, United will launch daily service from Denver to Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP), South Carolina, and Syracuse (SYR), New York. Starting June 8, the airline will also operate seasonal weekend flights to Portland (PWM), Maine. These additions mirror routes already served by Frontier.
In addition to the new destinations, United is expanding frequency on several existing routes from Denver. The carrier is adding Sunday service to Burlington (BTV), Vermont; Savannah (SAV), Georgia; and Pensacola (PNS), Florida. Service to Fort Myers (RSW), Florida, will be expanded from a winter-only daily schedule to include summer weekend flights.
United had earlier announced new Denver routes to Charleston (CHS), South Carolina; Eureka (ACV), California; and Fairbanks (FAI), Alaska, all starting June 6.
“Denver is United’s fastest-growing hub, with a record of more than 500 daily departures this summer,” said Steve Jaquith, United’s vice president for Denver. “With the enhanced schedule, we’ll reduce the amount of time customers spend waiting at the airport and provide better connections for passengers arriving from smaller markets who need to travel east or west of Denver.”
These schedule changes reflect United’s strategy to strengthen its presence at Denver International Airport by adding capacity and improving connectivity. The additional weekday and weekend options aim to serve both leisure and business travelers, offering more direct flights and more convenient connections across the carrier’s network.
By matching routes flown by competitors and filling gaps in frequency, United seeks to attract passengers who value nonstop service and shorter layovers. The expanded Denver schedule this summer will provide travelers with more routing choices, particularly for regional destinations along the East Coast and seasonal leisure markets in New England and Florida.
Passengers planning travel through Denver this summer should check United’s published schedules for exact start dates, frequencies, and any seasonal variations. As hubs grow and airlines adjust capacity, travelers may find improved timing and reduced connection times on flights that link smaller cities to United’s broader domestic and international network.
