United Airlines Adds 22 New Routes: Where You Can Fly Now

United Airlines has announced 22 new domestic routes for next year, expanding its network across the country to offer more nonstop options for both leisure and business travelers.

From the New York/Newark area, United will introduce nonstop flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Hilton Head Island (HHH), Pensacola (PNS), and Anchorage (ANC). These new services are made possible by shifting some shorter-haul flying to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). In turn, D.C. will see new service from Elmira, New York (ELM); Lexington, Kentucky (LEX); and Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT). United will also add nonstop service between Washington, D.C., and Asheville, North Carolina (AVL).

“No other airline flies to more cities from the New York/Newark area than United Airlines, and we are excited to add three more nonstop routes, including the only nonstop service between New York/Newark and Hilton Head Island and Pensacola, as well as the area’s only nonstop service to Anchorage,” said Jill Kaplan, president, New York/New Jersey, United Airlines. “We’re also expanding service to key business destinations, including Detroit, St. Louis, Omaha, Richmond, and Kansas City, Missouri. New Yorkers don’t stop and neither should their flights.”

On the West Coast, United will begin nonstop service between San Francisco (SFO) and Columbus, Ohio (CMH) starting June 6. Los Angeles (LAX) will gain new nonstop routes to Eugene, Oregon (EUG); Madison, Wisconsin (MSN); and Pasco, Washington (PSC), with service commencing March 31.

“There’s no substitute for a great network; serving destinations with convenient flight times that our customers want. This is something we continue to expand on in California,” said Janet Lamkin, president, California, United. “We look forward to connecting more of the country with California, for example Columbus and Madison, two important markets for higher learning.”

Midwest travelers will see new options as well: nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Hilton Head (HHH) begins April 6, further linking popular leisure destinations with major hub airports.

These additions reflect United’s focus on balancing leisure routes that support vacation travel with business-focused markets that serve corporate and academic centers. By adding nonstop flights from multiple hubs—Newark, Washington Dulles, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago—United aims to reduce travel time and improve connectivity for passengers across the United States.

Passengers planning trips to coastal resorts, small regional markets, and major business cities should find more direct itineraries and varied schedule options as these routes enter service next year. Travelers are advised to check United Airlines’ official schedules for exact start dates, frequencies, and booking availability as the carrier rolls out the new flights.
