Unclaimed Baggage, the only U.S. retailer specializing in lost and unclaimed luggage, has expanded internationally. Its online store now ships to Canada, Europe and the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, allowing millions more shoppers to browse and purchase discounted luxury brands, electronics, jewelry and more from home.

Unclaimed Baggage processes thousands of items each day through its retail store and online outlet. Inventory varies widely, from everyday clothing and accessories to musical instruments and high-value pieces such as large gemstones. The business is known for offering significant discounts on brand-name merchandise that originates from lost or unclaimed travel items.
“Reflecting on our history and unique business model, it’s remarkable to consider that what began with a borrowed truck and a $300 loan a little more than 50 years ago is now an international business with millions of shoppers,” said Paul Okimoto, president of Unclaimed Baggage. “With the current volume of unclaimed luggage and cargo in the transportation industry and a global economy where consumers are looking for ways to stretch their dollars, now is the right time to bring the Unclaimed Baggage experience to customers beyond U.S. borders.”

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted Unclaimed Baggage to close its physical doors temporarily in 2020 and accelerated the launch of its e-commerce platform. Since then, the online store has drawn more than 5.5 million visitors, expanding the company’s reach and making its distinctive inventory available to shoppers who cannot visit the physical store.
By opening international shipping, Unclaimed Baggage aims to serve a broader audience seeking value and variety. Customers abroad will be able to explore rotating inventory, take advantage of marked-down prices on recognizable brands, and have purchases delivered to their doorsteps, subject to regional shipping terms and customs regulations.
The move builds on the company’s long-standing approach of reselling recovered items in a transparent, sustainable way. For many shoppers, the appeal lies in the hunt—finding unexpected treasures at reduced prices—while supporting an operation that gives items a second life instead of consigning them to waste.
