Tuscan Treasures: Discover Authentic Tuscany Experiences

An ancient borgo — complete with castle and church — Castiglion del Bosco is now an elegant private resort set across 4,500 acres. Guests can now participate in two-hour, chef-led cooking classes held in La Canonica, a former priest’s house that serves as the Castiglion del Bosco Cooking School. The organic gardens, created by the landscape architect who worked on the Vatican Gardens, cultivate more than 180 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Typical garden-to-table dishes taught in the school include ravioli maremmani (ravioli filled with nutmeg, spinach, and ricotta, finished with ragu) and scottiglia (a traditional Tuscan meat stew).

Located in the countryside about a half hour from Siena, the property comprises suites and nine renovated farmhouses-turned-villas, each surrounded by gardens and terraces. Interiors highlight original exposed wooden beams, handcrafted textiles, antique furnishings, and distinctive artisanal details. Owned by Massimo Ferragamo, the exclusive estate is also home to the only private golf club in Italy designed by Tom Weiskopf. The resort features extensive vineyards that produce Brunello di Montalcino, a private helipad, hiking trails, tennis courts, a bocce court, a fitness center, and a holistic spa.
