Arrival/Check-in: I navigated the traffic at Columbus Circle and pulled up in front of the hotel, where a bellman promptly took my bags and escorted me into the lobby. The space was cozier than I expected—especially welcome on a cold, rainy day—with a check-in desk to the right and a small sitting area to the left. The elevators stood directly ahead, opposite the entrance. Check-in was efficient, and I was on my way to my room within minutes of arrival. As I waited for the elevator, I chatted with an attendant who, to my delight, remembered me and asked thoughtful questions about my day and schedule each time our paths crossed during my two-night stay. This attentive, friendly service set a positive tone from the start. (30/30)
Guest Quarters: My Executive Park View Suite opened into a spacious living area. To the right was a marble guest bathroom with a shower, and to the left a well-equipped galley kitchen fitted with Sub-Zero appliances. A small touch that stood out was the bottled water branded with the hotel’s name and logo. The suite’s layout created three distinct zones—dining, relaxing and working—making the space both functional and inviting. The dining area was highlighted by a handcrafted Schonbeck crystal chandelier, which added a refined touch.
The work area featured a generous desk positioned to take full advantage of floor-to-ceiling windows with a lovely view of Central Park. The desk included conveniently placed electrical outlets and ample surface space. Internet access used a two-tier system: complimentary standard-speed service and a paid option for higher speeds. I chose the standard connection and found it perfectly adequate for email, browsing and research; only those transferring very large files would likely need the faster tier.
The separate bedroom offered a king-sized bed layered with plenty of pillows, high-thread-count linens and a cozy duvet, along with a sitting area overlooking the park. The main bathroom, also marble, included a tub/shower combination, plush towels, quality bath products and an amenity kit stocked with essentials. A wall-mounted vanity mirror tilted to a comfortable angle, which was a helpful detail for grooming and makeup. These thoughtful touches enhanced the overall comfort. My only minor gripe was a closet door that was difficult to slide—perhaps it caught on the plush carpet—but it was a small inconvenience in an otherwise well-appointed room. (28/30)
Services/Amenities: The most memorable aspect of my stay was the level of personal service. Staff members consistently acted with the attention and warmth of a residential building, which made me feel like more than a transient guest. During this visit I didn’t have time to use the spa, swim in the 55-foot indoor pool, or dine at Jean-Georges, but these offerings add to the property’s appeal for future stays. (40/40)
The Experience: After my stay, I watched an episode of Celebrity Apprentice that featured a challenge to create an ad campaign for the hotel. While the contestants debated how to portray “luxury,” I reflected on what truly distinguishes this property. Many hotels in New York offer luxury, but this location stood out for the sense of coming home. The atmosphere and service convey a feeling of inclusion and familiarity; my slogan would be: At Trump, you’re part of the family.
