Three Giant Cruise Ships Meet at Sea for the First Time

Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis-class ships Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas met at sea for the first — and quite possibly only — time. The three record-breaking sister ships sailed together to mark Harmony of the Seas’ arrival in the United States on the eve of her debut in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

These Oasis-class vessels are notable for redefining the cruise experience with a range of unexpected onboard attractions organized across seven distinct neighborhoods. Guests can wander through Central Park, a planted open-air space with nearly 12,000 trees and plants; test their balance on the FlowRider surf simulator; or try an 82-foot zip line that spans nine decks above the ship. The outdoor AquaTheater stages high-diving, aquatic and acrobatic performances, and The Rising Tide Bar invites passengers to relax at the first moving bar at sea.

Harmony of the Seas, the newest of the trio, holds the claim to being the world’s largest cruise ship by a small margin — longer by a foot and about 1,700 gross registered tons more. The ship combines the signature seven-neighborhood layout with refreshed dining concepts, bold entertainment offerings and enhanced connectivity through VOOM, the fastest internet at sea. With a wide variety of activities, venues and family-friendly options, Harmony delivers modern amenities designed to appeal to travelers of all ages.
