Arrival/Check-In: I arrived by taxi from Changi Airport and was welcomed by a friendly bellman who offered help with my bag. Traveling light, I carried my single bag to the reception myself. The lobby was quiet, so check-in was fast and efficient. Within minutes I was directed to my room and on my way.
Guest Quarters: The Fullerton Bay Hotel, with 100 guestrooms, sits right on the Marina Bay waterfront. The moment I entered my room the view of Marina Bay stood out. My room included a balcony, which proved especially enjoyable at night when I could watch the bay’s laser show and hear the accompanying music. The balcony design also disables the air-conditioning when the door is left open, a thoughtful touch that conserves energy.
Located on the fourth floor, my room was spacious and comfortable. A large flat-screen TV faced the king-sized bed. The bathroom was divided into two distinct areas: one with a standard showerhead and an overhead rain shower, and the other with a deep soaking tub. A small built-in TV mounted by the tub made it easy to relax and watch a program while bathing.
The room offered convenient power outlets at the desk and beside the bed, making it simple to charge a laptop and devices. Amenities included a Nespresso coffee machine, an iPod dock, pillow selections and Bvlgari toiletries. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel and in the rooms.
Services/Amenities: The hotel features two restaurants and a rooftop bar. The Landing Point boasts a 40-foot-long bar and an outdoor seating area with uninterrupted waterfront views. Hotel guests enjoy breakfast at Clifford, where the morning buffet offered a wide selection of items; Clifford also serves lunch and dinner. Lantern, the rooftop bar, pairs a stylish pool area with panoramic bay views and is an ideal spot for evening drinks and Champagne.
The fitness center is a highlight for me. While not very large, it is well equipped with advanced Technogym machines, providing everything needed for a solid workout.
The Experience: My stay at The Fullerton Bay Hotel was very enjoyable. The waterfront location made travel to nearby meetings convenient, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The efficient service, comfortable rooms and attractive public spaces combined to make this a memorable stay.
